A complaint has been lodged against Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, and others for allegedly sharing court proceedings of the Chief Minister on social media. The complaint, filed by Advocate Vaibhav Singh, refers to an incident when Arvind Kejriwal was presented in the Rouse Avenue court on March 28.
According to Singh, the court proceedings were recorded and circulated on social media platforms without permission, prompting him to file a complaint with the district judge. Additionally, Singh has sent legal notices to social media platforms to remove the video related to the court proceedings.
The complaint calls for a detailed inquiry into the matter and requests appropriate action against all individuals/political parties involved for willfully disobeying the Video Conferencing Rules of the court. Those named in the complaint include Sunita Kejriwal, as well as individuals associated with other political parties.
Singh alleges that members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and other opposition parties intentionally spread the court proceedings of Arvind Kejriwal on social media with the aim of manipulating public opinion and maligning the image of the judiciary. He contends that the dissemination of audio/video recordings was part of a pre-planned conspiracy to gain public sentiment.
The complaint further asserts that the circulation of the court proceedings was aimed at misleading the public and portraying the judiciary as working under the influence of the government. It suggests that the recordings were intended to create an impression that the judiciary was acting at the behest of the central government.
Arvind Kejriwal, who is also the national convener of AAP, was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21 in connection with the Delhi excise policy case. His judicial custody has been extended until April 15, and he is currently detained in Tihar Jail.
The complaint highlights concerns regarding the unauthorized sharing of court proceedings on social media platforms and underscores the need for adherence to legal protocols and regulations governing such matters.
