A court in Mumbai has refused bail to Vaibhav Pandya, the stepbrother of cricketers Hardik and Kunal Pandya, who was arrested for allegedly cheating his siblings in a polymer business deal. The court deemed the offense as serious and noted the substantial amount involved in the case.
Vaibhav Pandya, aged 37, was apprehended by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Police in April. He faces charges including criminal breach of trust, criminal intimidation, criminal conspiracy, forgery, and other relevant sections of the law.
The bail plea of Vaibhav Pandya was dismissed by Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate S B Shinde on May 10. The detailed order elucidating the decision was released on Wednesday.
The denial of bail underscores the gravity of the allegations against Vaibhav Pandya. The court’s decision reflects the seriousness with which economic offenses are viewed, particularly when significant sums of money are involved. The rejection of bail highlights the judicial commitment to ensuring the fair and proper adjudication of cases involving financial misconduct.
