• Early Life and Education: Born on September 1, 1963, in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, Justice Chandel obtained a BA degree from Pandit Ravi Shankar Shukla University, Raipur, and an LLB degree from Guru Ghasidas University, Bilaspur.
• Judicial Career: He commenced his judicial career on August 26, 1987, as a civil judge class II at the Civil Court in Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh. Over the years, he served in various capacities in the subordinate judiciary across Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
• Positions Held:
  • Presiding Officer, State Transport Appellate Tribunal, Raipur
  • District and Sessions Judge, Kawardha
  • Additional Registrar (Administration), Registrar (Vigilance), and Registrar (Inspection and Inquiry) at Chhattisgarh High Court
• Elevation to High Court: Justice Chandel was elevated as an Additional Judge of the Chhattisgarh High Court on June 27, 2017, and became a permanent judge on September 2, 2019.

Recent Transfer:

Justice Chandel’s transfer to the Patna High Court from the Chhattisgarh High Court was notified by the Union Ministry of Law and Justice on May 29, 2023. His extensive experience in various judicial roles is expected to contribute significantly to his new responsibilities at the Patna High Court.
