The Supreme Court has agreed to hear a plea filed by incarcerated MLA Abbas Ansari, seeking permission to attend special prayers for his late father, Mukhtar Ansari, who passed away on March 28 due to cardiac arrest.
Abbas Ansari, the son of gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, filed the plea through his lawyer Nizam Pasha. Acknowledging the request, Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud confirmed that the listing had been granted.
The plea seeks permission for Abbas Ansari to participate in the special prayers organized in memory of his father, highlighting the significance of the occasion for familial and religious reasons.
