The police made this oral submission while responding to a habeas corpus petition filed by Thirumalai, a resident of Tirunelveli district, seeking the production of his brother Ganesan. Ganesan, 46, had gone missing from the Isha Foundation premises in March of the previous year.Thirumalai informed the court that despite his efforts to contact his brother, he had received no response, prompting him to reach out to the Isha Foundation. However, the Foundation only stated that Ganesan, who was employed at the ashram, had not reported for duty for two days. Subsequently, Thirumalai lodged a police complaint and approached the High Court for intervention. In response to Thirumalai’s plea, the Bench directed the police to submit a status report on the ongoing investigation into the missing persons cases by April 18, the next scheduled hearing date. The incident raises concerns about the safety and whereabouts of individuals associated with the Isha Foundation, prompting authorities to intensify efforts to ascertain the circumstances surrounding their disappearances. As the investigation unfolds, stakeholders await further updates from law enforcement agencies to shed light on the matter and ensure justice for the affected families.
